Busta's Verse on Roman's Revenge
Before I even address his verse, I'd like to point out that Busta picked his nose and rubbed it on the mic!...then he touched the guy next to him...
The verse was just alright...lol. Busta seems like he's trying to make a comeback but I'm not sure how well that's going to go.

Bring Your Mattress!
This isn't a new song but it's still good. It's one of Major Lazer's interesting music videos that features Skerrit Bwoy. I was thinking the other day that Nina Sky hasn't done much in a while but I forgot about this song. The video is a little awkward though...
Major Lazer is pretty awesome. I was watching a couple of videos and Skerrit Bwoy is a great hype man...a bit wreckless...but he knows how to work a crowd.

I can't believe that this guy who was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is taking over the Dancehall scene.

Cowball
With a sale price of $335, these soccer balls are made with 100% real cow fur. It would be interesting to have a little collection of soccer balls made with random materials like this...

Sticky Situation
Who knew that packing tape could create such insane art? Viennese/Croatian design collective For Use/Numen appears to be the master of this unique art. By using only packing tape, they are able to create fascinating cocoons that the viewers can interact with by climbing inside to create their own niches.
Almost 117,000 feet and 100 pounds of packing tape were used in its last installation in Vienna. Here's how it's all done:

Winter Wonderland
Wow! This is the first and hopefully last big snowstorm of the season and the wind is outrageous! LaGuardia, NY recorded 10.2 inches of snow yesterday and I'm pretty sure there were around two feet in my neighborhood.
I remember how fun snow was when I was younger but as I get older, these large amounts of snow just seem ridiculous because I have to help clear it up. Although I have great gloves, the cold still fights it's way through leaving my fingers a little swollen but luckily I'm back in my warm and cozy house.
It would still be fun to make a snowman or snow angel in this snow. Fox News has reported that 6 to 32 inches has fallen throughout the Tri-State area. I was watching the news on the eve of Christmas Eve and there was a guy that makes these amazing snow sculptures and sprays them with color after he's made them. I wish I remembered where he was from so I could post some pictures of his work but there are others that make the best of these large amounts of snow.
Here are a couple of photos from the 27th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, China that will take place on January 5, 2011:
In less happy news, some people in Lafayette, Indiana are using snow sculptures inappropriately and annoying their neighbors...

Pilot
Since this is the first post I thought I should just give a brief summary of what it'll be about and what's to come. For the most part, I'll be posting new/good songs that I like, my artwork, and clever things that I appreciate.
I started DJing at Amherst College just before Thanksgiving and I'm staying on top of new music in Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Rap. My DJ name is DJ Roadrunner and everyone should definitely tune in to the show at WAMH 89.3 FM once we're back on the air. We haven't filled out the time slot for the new year but I'll add a post once it becomes final. It only broadcasts over the radio in the general Pioneer Valley region but I'll be posting the link to the website where you can listen along with the air time.
As an Art major I have a focus in sculpture but I do dabble in other forms. I'll be taking photos on my work as I finish them for everyone to enjoy.
The video below is the music video for the song Champion by Chipmunk Feat. Chris Brown. The video is new and I like the song too. I think it's a good hype song mainly because of the chorus. As I approach the new year and get ready for new obstacles, I'll definitely keep this in mind:
I'm always pushing myself to the limit
Making sure I stay ahead
You made me who I am, from the words you said
Some people have to learn
Some people wait their turn
Some people but not me
I was born a champion
Comment and let me know what you think!
